In over 20 years of experience in clinical and school psychology, Dr. Holifield has trained and practiced in hospitals, group practices, inpatient residential treatment hospitals, child development and assessment centers, and therapeutic day schools. His focus has been on neuropsychological assessment, memory assessment and intervention, behavioral assessment, threat assessment, behavioral and cognitive-behavioral interventions, and school-based mental health consultation. He has practiced as a school psychologist in the Midwest as well as in local school districts.
He has lived and practiced in the San Luis Obispo Area for 16 years and has developed strong, collaborative relationships with many school professionals, advocates, agencies, and clinicians in the community.
Dr. Holifield has taught assessment, biological psychology, as well as child and adolescent psychology courses at various universities, most recently Cal Poly.
He has an extensive list of professional presentations and workshops related to child psychopathology, memory assessment and development, and neuropsychological and clinical assessment. Dr. Holifield has also been involved in the San Luis Obispo Community as a youth soccer coach, basketball coach, parent volunteer at local schools.
